Each human being has a groin. This is because it is the place that marks the end of abdomen and the beginning of legs. This therefore means that any pain in this area is known as groin pain. This pain can be as a result of various reasons that might be internal or external. The pain that you might suffer might be mild or sever depending with its cause. You need to know that mild groin injuries might heal on their own though severe groin injuries might lead special medical attention. Groin pain is common in both men and women. Here are some of the general causes of groin pain in women.

General Causes of women groin pain
There are array of causes of groin pain in women. Some of these causes are general while others are specific. Some of these causes include :-
Pregnancy – when a woman is pregnant, there are some hormonal changes that take place. Some of these changes increase pelvic joints slackness. This explains why most pregnant women suffer from groin injury. It has to be noted that due to various pregnancy stages, groin pain might be experienced. This pain might be felt in various places like in the genital area, lower back, hip joints, and upper thighs among others.
Groin injury – this is another general cause of groin pain in female. This can be caused by falling in a specific way that injures the groin, direct blow of groin area and so on. Athletes are also prone to groin injury and groin strain due to over-extension of groin muscles that might cause sprain in the groin area. Straining or tearing muscles next to the hip joint can as well cause groin injury.
Referred pain – this is when there are some parts in the body that are not function. These parts cause groin pain in women and is known as radiating or referred pain. This can be as a result of stresses tendon fibers, ligaments or pulled muscles.

  • Special problems in the pelvic like ovarian cyst, ectopic pregnancy, pelvic inflammatory diseases
  • Severe back pain
  • Spine injuries among others

It is important that female groin injury be diagnosed immediately. This can be detected when you experience the symptoms of groin pain. It is also important to seek immediate medical attention to contain the pain. Here are possible diagnosis methods :-
Physical test – this is done by a physician who will have to examine the affected area that might be swollen. He or she might recommend immediate exhaling exercise to examine the effects of the pain and possible remedy.
Radiological examination –  this entails radiological tests to determine the kind of groin pain and its possible treatment.
Other tests – there are many other tests that can be done to detect the cause and kind of groin pain in a woman. These tests are done by a qualified physician.
